Where it comes from: Specialist premix manufacturers, a large share of the world supply made in China and Europe.
Why it's in the product: Cooking destroys vitamins, so nutrients are added back after the fact. This is the line that makes a food legally complete and balanced rather than a protein-and-starch mix.
Safety and toxicity: Safe and necessary. A long, chemical-looking vitamin line is a sign the formula is meeting a nutrient standard, not a sign of a cheap food. The one entry inside a premix worth reading is menadione, synthetic vitamin K3, which we flag separately.
Interactions and who should be careful: Do not stack a general vitamin supplement on top of a complete food without asking your vet. Fat-soluble vitamins A and D accumulate, and excess is a real toxicity, unlike the water-soluble Bs.
