4 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Animal fat
Rendered fat from unnamed species, and the ingredient where BHA most often hides.
Meat flavor and digest
A rendered palatant from animal tissue; the vaguer the name, the less you know.
Menadione (vitamin K3)
A synthetic vitamin K linked to liver stress in high doses; safer natural forms exist.
Artificial colors
Dyes that exist to sell the food to you; your pet does not care what color it is.

No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

- Oct 24, 2026 Panel Score 79 → 75: “Unnamed animal ingredients” is now “Animal fat”, “Added colors” is now “Artificial colors”, and added a caution for Meat flavor and digest. “Unnamed animal ingredients” was a flag of our own for lines that don't say which animal they come from. We retired it on October 24, 2026 for the entries our library has for those lines, each counted once: “Animal fat preserved with mixed tocopherols” is Animal fat, and the fish meal names no species but our library flags no fish meal. The panel also lists “Liver flavor”, which our library reads as a meat flavor and digest, and the record was not carrying the flag. Red 40, Yellow 5 and Blue 2 are certified dyes, so the color flag takes the name our library gives them.
Holding the package and it reads differently? Disputes come straight to us, and any score we change is logged publicly on the corrections page.
