- Oct 24, 2026 Panel Score 60 → 56: added a caution for Added sugar; “Natural flavor” is now “Smoke flavor”, and “BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole)” is now “BHA (preservative)”. The panel lists sugar, an added sugar, and the record was not carrying the flag. Its natural flavor caution rested only on “Natural smoke flavor”. Smoke flavor now reads as a caution of its own, not as a natural flavor: in 2023 the European Food Safety Authority found genotoxic substances in most of the eight smoke flavorings on the EU market, and the EU has since withdrawn all eight. The BHA flag takes the name our library gives it.
- Sep 22, 2026 “Artificial colors (Red 40, Yellow 5, and friends)” is now “Added color”. The score did not change. The panel says only “Added color” and names no synthetic dye.
