Save it to your pantry and the pantry page flags it if it turns up in an FDA recall we import.
It adds up, line by line.
Every product starts at 96. Flags, the brand's transparency grade and any recall linked to this product take points away. Nothing else moves the number, and no brand can pay to move it.

7 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
BHA (preservative)
A preservative flagged as a possible carcinogen in animal studies; many brands have dropped it.
Meat and bone meal
An unnamed-mammal protein with high bone content; the least transparent protein you can buy.
Animal fat
Rendered fat from unnamed species, and the ingredient where BHA most often hides.
Added sugar
A sweetener with no nutritional job; it adds calories and nothing else.
Meat flavor and digest
A rendered palatant from animal tissue; the vaguer the name, the less you know.
Propylene glycol
A humectant banned in cat food for red-blood-cell effects; purely textural in dog products.
Artificial colors
Purely cosmetic. Your pet doesn't care what color the food is; dyes add risk with zero benefit.

Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

- Oct 24, 2026 “Unnamed animal ingredients” is now “Animal fat”. The score did not change. “Unnamed animal ingredients” was a flag of our own for lines that don't say which animal they come from. We retired it on October 24, 2026 for the entries our library has for those lines, each counted once. “Beef and bone meal” and “Animal digest” already carried Meat and bone meal and Meat flavor and digest. “Animal fat (preserved with BHA)” is Animal fat as well as BHA. Until October 24, 2026 our library read a line like that as the preservative alone; a fat that names no animal and the BHA that preserves it are two things we flag, so the line now raises both.
- Sep 21, 2026 Panel Score 64 → 48: added flags for Corn syrup, Meat and bone meal, Meat flavor and digest and Propylene glycol. The printed panel lists it and our record was not carrying the flag.
