Save it to your pantry and the pantry page flags it if it turns up in an FDA recall we import.
It adds up, line by line.
Every product starts at 96. Flags, the brand's transparency grade and any recall linked to this product take points away. Nothing else moves the number, and no brand can pay to move it.

Good, check the flags
Scored October 2026 · checkthepanel.com
3 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Clay litter dust
Clay litter dust is a chronic airway irritant, and cats sit right in the cloud.
Fragrance
One word that can legally hide dozens of undisclosed compounds; a common trigger for skin and airway irritation.
Cosmetic preservatives
Includes formaldehyde releasers and potent contact allergens worth knowing by name.

The brand behind it.
Arm & Hammer
Baking-soda-based grooming and litter lines; transparent about ingredients, though the scented products use fragrance and (in shampoo) a formaldehyde-releasing preservative.
Church & Dwight publishes full ingredient disclosures online, so the panel is auditable even where it leans on fragrance and clay. The A grade takes nothing off this product's score.
Arm & Hammer brand pageIndependent testing & contaminants
No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

This page was corrected once.
- Oct 24, 2026 Panel Score 88 → 84: “Crystalline silica dust” is now “Clay litter dust”, and added a caution for Cosmetic preservatives. The line behind the clay caution is “Sodium bentonite clay”. Until October 24, 2026 our library read that spelling as the clay used as a binder in food; in a litter it now reads as the clumping clay whose dust we flag, as it already read “Natural clay” and “Bentonite”. The panel also lists benzisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone, the preservatives our library flags in Arm & Hammer's other litters, and the record was not carrying the flag.
