Flags-8 points in all

2 flagged ingredients.

Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.

Caution-4

Synthetic fabric

Synthetic fibers shed microplastics, and a pet lies on this fabric and many lick or chew it; what that means for a pet's health is still an open question, and cotton, hemp, linen and wool avoid it.

Caution-4

Undisclosed material

The maker doesn't say what this part is made of, so there is nothing to look up; the flag is about the missing name, not a known hazard.

West Paw

Montana-made Zogoflex toys, and blankets; the company says the toys are recyclable and dishwasher-safe, and offers a replacement guarantee.

Says its toys are BPA-, phthalate- and latex-free and independently tested to FDA and EU child-toy safety standards, but its Big Sky Blanket names only "faux suede" and "fleece", not the fiber. The B grade takes 2 points off this product's score.

Independent testing & contaminants

No independent testing on file.

Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.

We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

  • Oct 26, 2026 Panel Score 90 → 86: added a caution for Synthetic fabric. The panel lists “Faux suede”, which is synthetic by definition. Since October 26, 2026 a synthetic fiber in the cover of a bed or in a blanket, the fabric a pet lies on, kneads, licks or chews, reads as a caution of its own, Synthetic fabric: synthetic fibers shed microplastics, and what that means for a pet’s health is still an open question. The fleece’s fiber still isn’t named, and fleece also comes in natural fibers, so the caution for Undisclosed material stays, now for the fleece alone.
