Save it to your pantry and the pantry page flags it if it turns up in an FDA recall we import.
Why there is no score.
This panel was written from a search summary, and we have not checked it against the package yet. A summary tends to leave out the preservatives and colors that carry flags, so a number would most likely be too high. Holding the package? Send us the back of it and we will read it properly.
How we decide5 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
BHA and BHT
A preservative flagged as a possible carcinogen in animal studies; many brands have dropped it.
Meat and bone meal
An unnamed-mammal protein with high bone content; the least transparent protein you can buy.
Animal fat
Rendered fat from unnamed species, and the ingredient where BHA most often hides.
Added sugar
A sweetener with no nutritional job; it adds calories and nothing else.
Artificial colors
Purely cosmetic. Your pet doesn't care what color the food is; dyes add risk with zero benefit.
Every ingredient, top to bottom.
Listed by weight, so the first few lines are most of the food. Tap any line to see what it is and why it's there.
6 ingredients. 4 of them carry this product's 5 flags and are marked below. The other 2 raised no flag.

The brand behind it.
Ol' Roy
One of the cheapest bagged foods; unnamed rendered meal, corn syrup, and added color.
Walmart value line: corn, meat and bone meal, BHA/BHT, and dye.
Ol' Roy brand pageIndependent testing & contaminants
No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.
What we look forThis page was corrected once.
- Oct 24, 2026 “Unnamed animal ingredients” is now “Meat and bone meal” and “Animal fat”, “BHA (preservative)” is now “BHA and BHT”, and added a caution for Added sugar. The page still shows Not enough data. “Unnamed animal ingredients” was a flag of our own for lines that don't say which animal they come from. We retired it on October 24, 2026 for the entries our library has for those lines, each counted once: “Meat and bone meal” is Meat and bone meal and “Animal fat (BHA/BHT preserved)” is Animal fat. That line names BHA and BHT, so the BHA flag now names both. Until October 24, 2026 our library read a line like that as the preservative alone; a fat that names no animal and the BHA that preserves it are two things we flag, so the line now raises both. The panel also lists corn syrup, an added sugar.
Holding the package and it reads differently? Disputes come straight to us, and any score we change is logged publicly on the corrections page.
