Good, check the flags

2 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Smoke flavor
A flavoring made from condensed wood smoke. In 2023 EFSA found genotoxic substances in most of the eight smoke flavorings on the EU market, and the EU has since withdrawn all eight; the label doesn't say which flavoring this is.
Natural flavor
An undisclosed blend. Not harmful per se, but it hides what your pet is actually tasting.

No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

- Oct 24, 2026 Panel Score 90 → 86: added a caution for Smoke flavor. The panel lists “Smoke-flavored salmon”. The line names salmon with a smoke flavor added, so it counts as both. In 2023 the European Food Safety Authority found genotoxic substances in most of the eight smoke flavorings on the EU market, and the EU has since withdrawn all eight, so since October 24, 2026 a smoke flavor reads as a caution of its own. We used to read it as a neutral flavoring.
- Sep 21, 2026 Panel Score 94 → 90: added a caution for Natural flavor. The printed panel lists it and our record was not carrying the flag.
