Save it to your pantry and the pantry page flags it if it turns up in an FDA recall we import.

Good, check the flags
Scored October 2026 · checkthepanel.com
2 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Natural flavor
An undisclosed blend. Not harmful per se, but it hides what your pet is actually tasting.
Chamomile
An herb ASPCA's poison control lists as toxic to dogs and cats (vomiting, diarrhea, skin reactions); we flag it where a pet eats or swallows it.
Every ingredient, top to bottom.

The brand behind it.
Nulo
High-protein, low-carb recipes free of carrageenan, by-products, corn, wheat, and soy.
Names its proteins and organs; carrageenan-free and by-product-free, with one natural-flavor catch-all. The B grade takes 2 points off this product's score.
Nulo brand pageIndependent testing & contaminants
No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

- Oct 25, 2026 Panel Score 90 → 86: added a caution for Chamomile. The panel lists “chamomile”. The ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center lists chamomile as toxic to dogs and cats, so since October 25, 2026 chamomile reads as a caution of its own in anything a pet eats or swallows. We used to file it with turmeric, as a neutral spice.
- Oct 24, 2026 Moved from Cat Food to Treats & Chews. The score did not change and the web address did not change. Nulo sells it as a broth for cats, “to serve as a decadent treat or meal enhancement”, not a meal. Toppers and broths are listed in Treats & Chews.
