It adds up, line by line.
Every product starts at 96. Flags, the brand's transparency grade and any recall linked to this product take points away. Nothing else moves the number, and no brand can pay to move it.

1 flagged ingredient.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Undisclosed material
The maker doesn't say what this part is made of, so there is nothing to look up; the flag is about the missing name, not a known hazard.

Litter Genie
Litter disposal pails and refills. Graded from what the packaging states, not from an audit of the company.
Describes the refill film as a seven-layer barrier with 25% recycled content and an unnamed antimicrobial; the pail's own plastic is not specified. The C grade takes 5 points off this product's score.

Panel Score 87 out of 100, grade B: Good, check the flagsIndependent testing & contaminants
No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.
What we look forThis page was corrected once.
- Oct 13, 2026 The page now shows Panel Score 87 instead of Not enough data, with a caution for Undisclosed material. Litter Genie describes the pail's plastic and the refill film without naming what either is made of. We used to read the pail's plastic as a toy material and could not read the film at all. Both now carry the caution for a material the maker doesn't name, which is about the missing name, not a known hazard.
Holding the package and it reads differently? Disputes come straight to us, and any score we change is logged publicly on the corrections page.
