Save it to your pantry and the pantry page flags it if it turns up in an FDA recall we import.
It adds up, line by line.
Every product starts at 96. Flags, the brand's transparency grade and any recall linked to this product take points away. Nothing else moves the number, and no brand can pay to move it.

Oatmeal & Aloe Shampoo
Good, check the flags
Scored October 2026 · checkthepanel.com
2 flagged ingredients.
Avoid first. Each flag costs points in the score above; where a flag has an entry behind it, it links to the evidence.
Essential oil blend
Natural does not mean inert; several essential oils are documented irritants, especially for cats.
Undisclosed material
The label says preservative without saying which. We flag some preservatives, so an unnamed one hides whether it is one of them; the flag is about the missing name, not a known hazard.

The brand behind it.
Earthbath
Plant-based, cruelty-free grooming line with soap-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free formulas and named botanical scents.
Names its full ingredient list and scents its formulas with named botanicals rather than a synthetic "fragrance" catch-all. The B grade takes 2 points off this product's score.

No independent testing on file.
Third-party lab findings for things that never appear on an ingredient label. This is separate from the score above and does not change it.
We haven't found published third-party lab results (PFAS, heavy metals, phthalates) for this product. That is not a clean bill of health, just an absence of data.

- Oct 16, 2026 Panel Score 94 → 86: added cautions for Essential oil blend and Undisclosed material. The panel's last line says only “Preservative”: we flag some preservatives, so one the label doesn't name hides whether it is one of them, and since October 16, 2026 such a line reads as Undisclosed material, a caution about the missing name, not a known hazard. The panel also lists botanical fragrances of vanilla and almond, which our library reads as an essential oil blend, and the record was not carrying that flag.
