- In a shampoo or a balm, a conditioning ingredient, and beeswax is a texture agent in balms. In anything eaten, honey reads as Added sugar.
- Safety and toxicity
- Fine for healthy adult pets in small amounts. It is still sugar. Raw honey can contain Clostridium botulinum spores, which is a real caution for very young puppies and immune-compromised pets, mirroring the human infant advice.

- Relevant for diabetic pets, as with any sugar.
