Watched ingredients get highlighted on every product panel you open.
- Where it comes from
- Made from sodium chlorite.
- Why it's in the product
- Kills odor-causing microbes in ear cleaners and sprays.
- Safety and toxicity
- Where a pet swallows it every day, in a water additive or a toothpaste, it reads as Oral antiseptics, a caution. For skin we found only rabbit studies of a gel that releases it, applied at very high doses: the visible reddening cleared within the month, though the skin still showed inflammatory changes under the microscope. We found nothing on ear use.
General reference, not veterinary advice. Dose, breed, and existing conditions change the answer, so talk to your vet before changing what your pet eats. Think we got this wrong? Tell us and we log it publicly.
